Introduction

If you’re like most people, you probably have a Silhouette Studio file somewhere with a bunch of different colors in it that you use for templates and graphics, but you don’t always remember which color goes where. Well, fear not! In this article, we will be showing you how to change the colors on a SVG file in Silhouette Studio.

You can change colors on a SVG file in Silhouette Studio by using the Color palette.

1. Open the SVG file in Silhouette Studio.

2. Click the Color palette button () in the toolbar.

3. Choose a color from the Color palette.

4. Click OK to apply the color to the entire SVG file.

5. If you want to change the color of just a portion of the SVG file, select the area with the mouse cursor and click the Color palette button.

6. Choose a color from the Color palette.

7. Click OK to apply the color to the selected area.

8. If you want to apply the same color to all areas of the SVG file, click the Global Colors button () in the toolbar and choose a color from the Color palette.

9. Click OK to apply the color to the entire SVG file.

10. If you want to change the color of a layer in the SVG file, click the Layer button () in the toolbar and select a layer from the Layer list.

11. Click the Color palette button and choose a color from the Color palette.

12. Click OK to apply the color to the selected layer.

13. If you want to change the color of all layers in the SVG file, click the Global Colors button and choose a color from the Color palette.

14. Click OK to apply the color to the entire SVG file.

15. If you want to change the color of a text layer in the SVG file, click the Text button () in the toolbar and select a text layer from the Layer list.

16. Click the Color palette button and choose a color from the Color palette.

17. Click OK to apply the color to the selected text layer.

18. If you want to change the color of all text layers in the SVG file, click the Global Colors button and choose a color from the Color palette.

19. Click OK to apply the color to the entire SVG file.

20. If you want to change the color of a layer in the SVG file and its descendants, click the Layer button () in the toolbar and select a layer from the Layer list.

21. Click the Color palette button and choose a color from the Color palette.

22. Click OK to apply the color to all layers descendant of the selected layer.

23. If you want to change the color of all layers in the SVG file, click the Global Colors button and choose a color from the Color palette.

24. Click OK to apply the color to the entire SVG file.

25. To close the Color palette, click the Close button () in the toolbar.

26. To save the changes you've made to the SVG file, click the Save button ().

Tips for Editing Your SVG Files
